When Odyssey designed this product their goal was a system that is easier to install (and remove) without sacrificing performance, while making the whole set-up affordable.
The Springfield brake relies on the one visible spring for tension, which means all you have to do is put the brakes on and tighten them down. No adjusting, it's ready to go. The Springfield lever can be installed without having to remove the grip, and takes design cues from the popular Monolever. The set comes with the small "Ghost" pad but regular pads can be installed if you want.
This brake works really well and yet is very affordable - true value for money.
Anyone looking for an affordable brake or lever would be foolish to buy anything else.
